Artist Statement

Artist's Statement: As a self-taught artist, I create whimsical sculptural representations of people and animals in a folk art style. My work incorporates a wide variety of mixed media - paper, wood, botanicals, fabric, paint, plastic and found materials. My goal with every piece is to create a unique object that brings me as the artist and you as the viewer, a bit of joy. ?About Me: I am a self-taught artist living in Madison, Wisconsin. Years ago, inspired by Outsider Artists, I began my art explorations with painted furniture, floor cloths and driftwood assemblages. In 2009, I began making Windflower Kinetic Garden Sculptures (Windworker Studio). The folk art sculptures that are the focus of my current work began in 2019. I am a juried member of both the 14 South Artists Group and the Madison Art Guild.
