Jamie's motto is, where inspiration is whispered... and beauty is created. She allowed others to tell her what to do with her life, how she should live, dress, and act, and that her dreams were too big. You name it, she probably had someone telling her what to do in that area of her life, except for painting. Painting was her escape route from the outside voices. When she stepped into her studio, she allowed nothing to intervene with herself, her music, or her inspiration creating with color and chocolate. Looking back now, she admits that it was foolish to allow others to have so much power over her, but somewhere in the messy middle of her artistic journey, it all came together. She could see the colors were no longer dull, they were growing more vibrant with each brush stroke or roll of her ink roller. Her artwork is now in two galleries, Rivercity Gallery in downtown La Crosse and Oh! Arts in Mauston. She has been in a handful of small art events and is steadily climbing the ladder to get into larger art events and to reach her art to more people across the states. Last year was her first time participating in a large art event, the Fitchburg Agora Art Fair. With each milestone she completes in life and her career as an artist, it only solidifies that this messy journey of self-discovery is like a painting. They have their messy moments and their beautiful moments. Her work is a gentle reminder that we need to enjoy life's beauty that surrounds us in nature, laughter, and our friendships.
